Empowering Women in Tech: Financial Confidence and Coaching for Growth

This past week, I had the privilege of leading two incredible engagements that brought together some of my favorite themes—financial empowerment, personal growth, and the transformative power of community. As a leadership coach and advocate for women in tech, I’m always energized by opportunities to create spaces where women can learn, connect, and take bold steps forward.

Smart Money Moves – A Mentoring Circle with The WIT Network

In partnership with one of The WIT Network’s corporate members, I co-hosted a mentoring circle focused on the theme Smart Money Moves. Financial literacy is a critical skill—yet too often, women are left out of these conversations or feel uncomfortable discussing money, especially when it comes to investing.

To lead this important dialogue, I invited Beverly Wilkes, an experienced Financial Coach, to share her insights. Together, we explored practical tools and strategies for:

• Calculating your net worth

• Creating a plan to pay down debt

• Making informed decisions about short- and long-term investments

A key takeaway from our session was the importance of talking openly about money and investing, particularly among friends and peers. Financial confidence grows when knowledge is shared. Encouraging women to normalize these conversations is a vital step toward closing gaps in financial literacy and long-term wealth building.

This mentoring circle was a reminder that building financial confidence is not just about the numbers—it’s about creating a mindset of ownership, awareness, and empowerment.

Later in the week, I joined fellow career coach Susan O’Sullivan for the We’ve Got WIT webinar, Unleash Your Potential: How Coaching Drives Growth for Women in Tech. This conversation was particularly meaningful, as Susan and I shared our personal journeys to becoming certified coaches, and how coaching has deeply impacted both our lives and our clients' trajectories.

We addressed common misconceptions—like the idea that coaching is only for those who are struggling—and reframed it as a proactive tool for anyone seeking clarity, confidence, or their next level of leadership.

We also shared client success stories—women who have:

• Found their voice in leadership roles

• Made successful career pivots

• Gained the clarity to take bold, aligned action

What makes coaching so powerful is that it helps women uncover what’s already within them—and create a space for new perspectives, decisions, and breakthroughs to emerge.

Creating Space for Growth

These two experiences—focused on money and mindset—highlighted something I believe deeply: When women have the right tools, support, and community, they become unstoppable.

That’s exactly why I created Explore Beyond Coaching: to help women break through barriers, expand their potential, and lead lives aligned with their values.
